About Me

I am a five time graduate (with majors in literature and mental health counseling) and I do maintain a Masters degree in the study of  the human mind / behaviors.  In my previous work, I was a top tier remote support specialist.  I have also worked as receptionist, counselors assistant and case manager for a nonprofit organization.  I published a pretty impressive amount of poetry in my youth (under a pseudo name)....and I still do write, albeit probably a little more seriously these days.

This webpage stands as a gallery of sorts of my current work in publication with links to my books as I re-release them (I currently am editing my work for new and revised print editions).  You may peruse my various galleries and author profiles in all the links in the top bar and in the left-hand column.  You can purchase my books here and my artwork is available for purchase here.

As for more about me:  I have gone against the proverbial grain and do not partake in most forms of social media.  I have made an account and deleted it three times.  Something about the whole social media movement just does not sit well with me.  I prefer reality, tangible things and real relationships rather that the watered down highlight reels and superficial social interactions found on most forms of social media.  I have also pulled away from all forums, they seem to be echo chambers of the same twenty or so individuals who sing praises to each other (boring).  I just do not have the energy for the social politics of online social networks of any medium.   I  also find I am better inspired when I'm not near a screen (unless I am working on my art or poetry).

I enjoy a private life of coffee drinks, evening tea, trips to the bookstore and cafe.  I travel quarterly.  I have my own small library that's perpetually over-flowing (lots of reading to get done!).  I love live music and try to see a favorite band at least every couple of months or so.

I indulge in journal writing, art journaling, and paper crafting.  I also enjoy baking, cooking, nature watching, armchair travel, and great film...I find all these venues inspire me to continue creating.  I currently am learning to play a lovely pink acoustic guitar.   I am a life-long learner and am always enrolled in classes (I use Udemy, Skillshare and Course Era).  And, of course, I write quite a bit.

I love culinary delicacies (and am inspired from time to time to create some of my own!), good books, art (in all styles and mediums) and I consider myself a poet of the confessional variety.  I am in love with the moon, his fairy lights, the blanket of stars our universe rolls across the horizon each night...and  here lately, I've really began to love and appreciate myself for...well...being myself!

Lately, I feel I have developed new interests.  In my quest to abandon online gaming and social media forums, I have replaced those with real, physical activities like adult coloring books, reborn doll collecting and doll photography.  I will post more about these hobbies as they develop but I have found they are much more endearing and rewarding for me than mindless scrolling and partaking in internet drama.

Aside from being widely published, I have been nominated for the Pushcart Prize and Best of the Web on numerous occasions and have had more than 80 of my poems published in various online and print ezines and journals.

I have been working in digital art for over 14 years.  I create my artwork in several different digital mediums.  I incorporate everything from Photoshop to Digital painting and other image creating programs.  You can view all of my artwork in the various links above and to the left.

Initially, I wanted to disconnect from almost all things online, but after some contemplation I decided I should keep at least one little corner of the web where friends, family, and readers can view my work.  I created this blog to share my contribution to the arts, to inspire others, and to provide a space where others can view my work (lots of it is for fun and play, let's not be too serious).

This blog is mainly for things I write and create.  I write quite a bit of poetry.  I create  photo manipulation artwork, AI artwork, and anything in between.  I enjoy posting my favorite recipes, many of them I created myself.  From time to time I will document something about my life, whether it's a pretty photo I took or my travels.  This is not a blog where I go into great depth about personal details of my life.  Just know that I have a good life, I am blessed and happy, I do not need to brag about it and I do not need 'likes' or accolades for it.  The focus here is on the arts.

Thank you for visiting my blog!  I hope you'll find something worthy here for you.
